The New World of Historic Jamestowne Today Pocahontas, daughter of one native Indian chief, was one of the first settlers of Jamestown. She was captured and abducted by the Englishmen and was held for ransom. She later then married an English man named John Rolfe which later made her convert to Christianity. The story revolved with the earlier settlers of Jamestown Virginia and the colonization of the English during the Anglo-Indian hostilities in 1613. This was how the story revolved in that multi-awarded movie, The New World, by the direction of Terrence Malick. The film chose Historic Jamestowne as its film location for this was where the actual events and stories happened. Historic Jamestowne is now being preserved and is being further excavated for more artifacts that they might discover related to the birthplace of the United States. More information about this park can further be unearthed on their official website.
