Gods & Generals Was Filmed Here A prequel to the 1993 film Gettysburg, this 2001 movie entitled Gods and Generals was filmed in its entirety in the bloodiest place in the history of the United States. As the movie portrays the gaping Civil War that transpired in at least four major places in Virginia, Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania is just two of them. Warner Bros. and Ted Turner Pictures produced the movie to emulate to the viewers the exact location, sceneries and battle trails of the Civil War era. Approximately 85,000 men were wounded as 15,000 were killed in this horrible civil war history of the nation. This film location was the same place where civil war took place.
Today, the place has been properly restored and protected for the public to make as one of the main park attractions in Virginia. The park is open for visitors for free admission.
